What to Expect

With over 20 years of pottery experience and more than a decade of teaching, our owner has built our approach around everything she’s learned—creating a supportive, confidence-building environment that works well for all ages.

When You Arrive
Our staff will greet you and ask if you have a reservation. You don’t need one, but just like a restaurant, there may be a short wait during busy times.

When You’re Seated
We’ll guide you through how everything works: painting tips, where to find supplies, which items have special instructions, and what to do when you’re finished.

When You’re Finished
Place your paint palettes, brushes, and water cups in the designated areas—our team takes it from there. Bring your items to the checkout counter, and we’ll gather your information for pickup.

Items are typically ready in about two weeks. You’ll receive a text with a photo link when your pieces are finished. Please check the photo to make sure the items are yours.

Please note: By providing your phone number when you visit Delaware Pottery Studios or The Bare Bowl, you consent to receive text messages related only to your pottery items. These texts are strictly for order updates, firing status, and pickup notifications.

Calling all book lovers, fantasy fanatics, romance readers, and literary dreamers! Join us for our Bookish Paint and Sip on June 30th and July 7th! Bring your favorite stories to life as you paint pottery inspired by beloved books, characters, quotes, tropes, and cover art. Whether you're recreating the cover of your favorite novel, designing a dragon-filled fantasy mug, painting a stack of your favorite books, or creating something inspired by your latest BookTok obsession, this night is all about celebrating the stories you love. We'll have themed tables based on popular genres, bookish inspiration, conversation starters, wine, tea, and a charcuterie board to help spark your creativity. Ticket Includes: • Wine and tea • Charcuterie board • Book-themed inspiration and activities • Entry into the event Pottery is purchased separately the night of the event. Gather your reading buddies, choose your favorite book aesthetic, and create a piece worthy of a spot on your bookshelf. What a whirlwind these last week has been! Since the ribbon cutting, the studio has been full in the best possible way. Clay on hands, glass catching the light, people wandering through the space, classes buzzing, conversations happening in every corner. It’s been exciting, a little chaotic, and honestly everything we hoped this new chapter could feel like. A huge thank you to Main Street Delaware, Inc. for helping us kick things off so beautifully, and to everyone who has stopped in, shared a post, taken a class, brought a friend, or simply walked through the door to say hello. This space has always been about making—learning the wheel, getting a little messy, figuring it out as you go, and creating something that’s actually yours at the end of it. The paint is almost dry, and we’re in the final stretch over here! Long days, short nights, some overthinking, a lot of heavy lifting—and still, there’s this excitement building as we get closer to opening the doors. As we head into these last few days before our Grand Opening on Friday, May 1st, our May class schedule and studio hours are live. We’ve also rolled out a new booking system during the move.   • Our costs are all-inclusive. Choose your perfect piece, and the price you see covers everything except for tax. No hidden fees, no surprises—just pure creative enjoyment!

  • For those living out of town or with busy schedules, we've got you covered! If you're unable to pick up your finished pottery at our studios, we offer a convenient shipping option for an additional fee. Sit back, relax, and we'll deliver your masterpiece right to your doorstep when it's ready!

  • If you're using our Mayco Stroke and Coats paints to create your masterpiece, you can use the painted pieces for their intended purpose. Sip from that beautifully painted mug or savor a meal in your hand-painted bowl. However, please note that for our "Make and Take" events, we use acrylic paint and seal it with a glossy finish. As these items are not glazed, they are meant for decorative purposes only and should not be used for functional activities.
